WEMS Inc. is an emergency ambulance service, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, has the duty and privilege to provide emergency care to our sick and injured residents and guests in the Town of Wells. Our emergency calls are answered by our 911 Wells Police Emergency Communications Center; if you are not sure an ambulance is necessary call 911.

We are located at 114 Sanford Road, approximately 1 mile east of the Maine Turnpike. 

WEMS operates 3 ambulances and has approximately 40 part-time employees. Steve Merrill is the Interim Director of WEMS and oversees the day-to-day operations of the service. The nature of our business demands teamwork. Our employees are highly skilled Emergency Medical Technicians, who are licensed by the State of Maine Emergency Medical Services.

The emergency care rendered by our personnel may make the difference between life and death, a temporary or permanent disability, a short stay in the hospital or an extended hospitalization. 

In a crisis situation, a sudden unexpected event that most people are unprepared for, our team of professionals, demonstrate the ability to take leadership and control the crisis with their empathetic knowledge and skills.
